A man and woman from Springfield are in jail following a single vehicle accident in Marion County. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says a vehicle was traveling east on Highway 84 Tuesday afternoon, when the drive lost control attempting to turn right onto Miller Pike. Deputies say the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a fence. The driver, 26 year old Kimberly Lay was arrested on charges of D.U.I. and Operating Motor Vehicle on Suspended License. A passenger in the vehicle, 33-year old Geoffrey E. Boone of Springfield was arrested on a charge of Alcohol Intoxication in Public. No injuries were reported and both were lodged in the Marion County Detention Center. Deputy Sheriff Ray Gardner investigated.
